I'm not depressed but just feel sluggish in the morning and would rather zzzzzzzzzz despite getting enough sleep. Also, do any of you have partners who are the dreaded Morning People and do they want to change YOU to be like them????

Some people are just "night owls", like me, and have a hard time dealing with mornings.

Ask your partner how THEY would like it if you were trying to change them into something they were not... Take the "I'm not weird, YOU are" stance, because there's nothing wrong with you for having a different circadian rhythm than they do.

When you figure out how much sleep your body needs you can start going to bed at the right time so you will awake fully rested. I've found that drinking a big glass water just before bed helps me get out of in the morning. Getting into a routine and being consistent will make things easier as time goes on.

I hate mornings and would love to sleep in but the doctor said get up the same time every day and go to bed the same time every night to get your body use to the early mornings and it really does work.

I find it's easiest to wake up to soft, gentle, ambiant music in the morning. I highly recommend disc 2 of Broken Social Scene's autonomous album (http://www.amazon.com/Broken-Social-Scene/dp/B000AP2ZTE) which has been superglued to my CD player/alarm clock for over a year. It's like waking up to the voice of an angel. You'll float out of bed.

As far as dealing with morning people, if you figure it out, let me know. My mom is the happiest, chipperist morning person on the face of the earth and she kills me with her early morning jubilance. I just to stumble my way to the door and get the heck out of there as quickly as possible.

i used to be a morning person than college came and that left.....just dont think about it..the more thinking you do to get up is the longer you lay in bed saying, oh just one more minute. once u realize its time to get up, just spring up without thinking

i used to have that problem. Mainly i overslept because i didn't have anything to do. Then one of my friends suggested me to make list of things i have to do in one day that require me to wake up in the morning.
In simple terms, Have something to do when you wake up.
