Oddly enough, Carmen Cavallero's name has stuck in my head for decades. My guess is that he was a Cuban pianist and orchestra leader popular in the '50s. I think he was a real-life version of Ricky Ricardo in the I Love Lucy TV series.

There was a movie during that time called The Eddy Duchin Story. Duchin was another pianist-bandleader from perhaps a slightly earlier time.

Anyway, Duchin apparently had as a theme song an orchestrated version of one of Chopin's nocturnes -- perhaps the Nocturne in F -- that was recorded by Cavallero. I don't know if Cavallero did the sound track for the movie, but that song was released as a single -- and it has always stuck in my head.

That Chopin nocturne is a very popular piece, but it's almost always done on a piano. I have it by Arthur Rubenstein. The Cavallero orchestration, though, I'd like to get.

So this isn't much, but it's something.

<>Other than what you have- a pianist born in 1913- oddly enough I can find nothing else on him. That is strange.
