on a philosophical level- absolutly not. I am convinced that there is a god and that life is eternal, and so is change. Death is just another change.
On a physical level- I went surfing one time when it was really, really big. I was out there pooping purple twinkies, because I thought I was going to drown. It scared me because I don't want to die, especially by drowning. The idea that someday I will die doesn't bother me at all.
To die at a ripe old age would be nice, I'd like to see some grandchildren some day.

I'm looking forward to death because it is a progression into the next stage of life - the spirit world. My parents are there, I have friends there, Christ is there. I will be able to rest up and look forward to the resurrection. Plus, people who have died and come back all report how beautiful and peaceful it is and that they did not want to return. I am more afraid of HOW I'll die than of dying itself, only because I'm not a lover of pain or agony.

I find the idea of death regrettable, but I'm only scared of the pain of death. I'm not scared of death at all. And I'm an atheist by the way.
For the person dying, death is a meaningless experience. Meaning always comes after an event, never before. Since the dead person is no longer around, there is no memory of one's death to consider.
That's actually the one thing I find so bizarre to imagine about death - no memory, no consciousness. In a lot of ways though, it's very freeing. How can one suffer at one's death if one is not even "one" anymore? :)

No I'm not. I'm afraid to die and leave my children without a mother however. They need me. My fear is that they would be in pain without me and maybe make choices they wouldn't if I were around. But I'm not afraid to die. When you live long enough, you realize that there are worse things in life than death!!! :~)

No. I already died. As it is written: For you died and your Life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is my life is revealed, then I also will be revealed with Him in Glory (Colossians 3:3,4). and again "The sting of Death is Sin" (I Corinthians 15:56); but "He (God the Father) made Him (God the Son), who knew no sin, to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him" (II Corinthians 5:21). Jesus said " He that believes in Me shall never die". What you call life - existence on earth, is no life, in comparison with the true life, which comes by knowing the Eternal God. "And this is eternal life - that they may know You(the Father), the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent" (John 17:3)

Yes, a little bit, but maybe I won't if I'm sure that I will leave my family and friends in good hands.
