I've been around lots of painters and I can tell you if your going to paint a BMW your going to want to put top of the line paint on it like PPG Global line and its not cheap. What color is the car now? Probably not pink or orange. A complete color change is going to cost even more, The door jams, trunk and hood have to be done. So your well over $2000. Is the color going to have metal flake or a pearl color like a stage 3 paint, even more$$.
Most people that paint High line cars do a nice wet sand to slicken up that orange peal texture. More $$. Not trying to scare ya but if its your hearts desire to paint your BMW...hey its a classy car pay the extra money to keep it that way!

the cost to paint any vehicle is determined by the type and quality of the job to be done. a simple paint job can run from 3-5 hundred, but a high quality job may run 1000-2000. i suggest you use the phone to check various shop prices for a paint job. color is usually not a factor for a standard paint, but specialty paints, such as metallic paint, will cast more as will two and three color paint jobs due to the amount of work needed to prepare the vehicle for painting each color.
get any prices in writing before you have it done so as to not be charged more than the agreed price. also, check out the business for warranty and other customers for satisfactory work being done. big name and well known name companies may be better but they may also do poor quality work. don't rush into getting the work done. give yourself time to find out as much as you can.
