It appears your test is negative. If it was positive they would give you a PPD which is a needle under the skin and watch it for a reaction. The site where they gave it to you would be raised. If that was positive, finally, they would send you for a chest x-ray to rule out any infiltration in your lungs.

The mantaoux test is made for rule out people with tuberculosis exposure. It should be totally negative in an unexposed patient (like more of the native americans and some european countries), but in foreing people who was vaccinated it becomes positive. Your response seems to be that you were somelike exposed to the microorganism or at least to a bacteria of the micobacteria genera, or maybe you were vaccinated if you were born in another country
I dont know what is the proccedure in this situation, it varies according to the protocols of each clinic or hospital center, but in general its recomended that a person who is positive in the Mantaoux test, have another confirmatory labs before starting treatment, bcause as I said, there could be some false positives
the confirmatory test are Rx thorax, sputum studies and maybe blood studies
Good Luck

Many people who have been exposed to TB have positive Mantoux tests. This does not mean you have TB - only that you've been exposed to it. This happens often, especially to heath care workers or after receiving the TB vaccine. If your doctor thought you had TB he would have started treatment immediately. TB IS VERY CONTAGIOUS! You wouldn't have gotten out of his office without a prescription for antibiotics. Don't worry, and PLEASE don't use your real name when posting on the internet.
