How about a hobby of finding out what you like and collecting lots of it? Bottle caps? Match Boxes? Pictures of People's shoes Or Hands? Of people's yards?
Good luck!

I agree with hey, how about jewelry making? It is nice to have jewelry that matches your outfit. The equiment you need to get started is not expensive, think Wal-mart, and lasts and lasts. Go to Michaels on-line, they have classes, examples, and stuff to buy. Once you buy the equipment, all you need is the beads, some crimp beads, something to string them on, and a clasp.
And there are lots of projects for attatching beads to clothing, purses, and making things just out of beads.

Making paper flowers with scrap paper and pipe cleaners (or notebook wire). Sounds not so nice, but you can make really amazing things with it, and it's very cheap. Look on-line for the Klutz book about tissue paper flowers for examples.

I love scrapbooking (yeah yeah, I know) and anything that deals with crafty stuff around the house (making holiday decorations, personalizing plain boxes/frames/etc. with paint and stuff).

Make popup cards and books. If you have any young relations they will love getting handmade cards on their b'day and popup books about them. Use photos for great effect.
