If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it; and "this" 'you' have the power to revoke at any moment.

Simply put---learn that how you react is the biggest problem -work on that first and up-most.
The greatest part of our happiness depends on our dispositions, not our circumstances.

People can learn, change or be anything as long as they really care to. The problem is that changing a basic part of yourself is very hard work, and it goes on and on. It's not like changing your hair style, it takes constant watching out not to go back to your old habits. It takes will power, and that is precisely what many people lack for long term projects. We can do anything and everything we set our mind to, but it takes determination to continue.

Of course. Put things in perspective - is it worth being stressed? As a former stress addict (not really an addict, but you get my point) I learned to simply not care about certain things - not my problem, I can't solve it, I'm going home to have a beer. It takes time but it's possible. This thinking also makes you prioritize what is important to you.

Absolutely! The key is to know you have a problem first, you got that done. Now go to a quiet room, or someplace and just let your mind wander. This works for me. At the same time try to let your body go numb, starting with your feet.

This is a very brief disc. of a relaxation exercise.
