i'm a girl so i know what girls like guys wearing... especially at big events like the Melbourne Cup... i think that white shirts with some stripes, or a light shade of pink or blue shirt, tie?.... i think that red, printed, or blue ties would be suitable, the suit would definetly have to be a black one... black would definetly blend in... sunnies...not the big sunnies... i think casual sunnies would best be suitable for Melbourne Cup... and shoes... black shoes would be the hit for sure... not sneakers, not thongs but dressy but not too dressy if you know what i mean... good luck at the Melbourne Cup though!

the colours will depend on your complexion/hair colour. (eg. som1 with florid complexion should b very careful, but tanned ppl r luckier.) i would recomment a whte/pale blue shirt with a t-shirt underneath & the top shirt with app. 2 buttons undone, a dark blue/black suit, classic sunnies (thin arms, medium-dark lenses, little ornamentation) a tie that matches ur date's dress (if u have 1, otherwise, just a nice pattern, a bit bright, but not too bright) & some classic dress shoes. rule of thum tho: if ur not comfortable in it u wont look cool. even if its the least cool outfit, if u look at ppl condescendingly & seem confident, they'll think ur cooler than they r. sounds cheezy, but its true

What does it matter? No one who goes to the Melbourne Cup is "cool". The horses don't give a sh*t.
