How long should my labret stud be?

I recently got my lip pierced with a labret stud and pretty soon I will need to change to a shorter post. I have no idea what size to go to. I think my piercer wrote down the wrong size, as he wrote that it was 7/8 inch, which doesn't seem possible, it seems too long. Firstly, is this possible? And secondly, what size post should I go down to?

Go back to your piercer and have them fit you for a new one. If it's been a few weeks since you were pierced, it'd be a good time now. The longer you have the larger post, the more damage can be done to your gums and teeth, due to rubbing. You also don't want one that's too short, because that can cause damage to the inner lip tissue or cause other problems.

It's very difficult to choose a new size for yourself until you're used to your piercing and how it should fit.

7/8 inch seems way too long.
I'd go with one much shorter or it could cause havoc in all sorts of situations.

depends on what you want to use it for.
it'd be pretty hard to open a beer bottle with a 7/8"er.

go for a 3-5" spike, or if they have any sort of attachment combo get that...like a swiss army knife for your face.

eewww...um i made the mistake of getting mine pierced too like 7 years ago i had it for a couple hours and hated it.. i still have an ugly scar fromit

When you are 50 , will you still think that your piercings are cool.
Hopefully , you will live to be 50, as you are putting yourself at risk of infection, and round the mouth, any infection can be very dangerous.
