You are right, Christmas is about family. (Extended family also). Christmas like all other holidays has become way too commercialized. To me: Christmas is not only about being with family but about the kids. For the past 20 years I have been collecting toys for toys for tots! It is one of the best organizations out there. The company I work for is very much involved in this. It provides brand new toys for children who have none or who are less fortunate. To see a child's face light up when you give them that special toy or to give them a hug just to show them how much you care is one of the best things that can happen to you at Christmas time or any time. God should not only be thanked on Christmas day, but every day. This day is all about Him and His son being born. Reaching out to help someone who is less fortunate than you are is the best gift and feeling you can ever receive.
If you have never helped out at a homeless shelter or have been some place where the kids have nothing, try it, you will get the true meaning of Christmas and what they face not only on Christmas day but every day.
Sometimes you never really realize what you have until its gone.
This will be the first year without either of my parents, although I come from a large family there will still be emptiness there for them.
The lights and the cards, and the presents are great, but I think beyond that for those who are less fortunate than I am.

It's a magical time. A time to reflect and thank God for all your blessings, your family, your health, your children, and all the good fortune you have, and at the same time it's a time to give so that those less fortunate have something special and magical in their lives too.
Last year our school did the "shoebox of hope". Each child prepared a shoe box full of dollar store items or things they had around the house they didn't need and that another child from a poor country may enjoy getting. Well I spent $50 and filled up 3 boxes from my 3 kids. A sweet man who does charity work and always delivers items to poor children across the world, took these 200 boxes, all beautifully wrapped in colourful wrap, on a boat and across the miles to poor kids in a Guatemalan village. Imagine their surprise when they saw the pretty packages and the amazing items inside. I packed mirrors, and toothbrushes, combs, soap, candle, games, paper, books, sunglasses, candy....that is what Christmas is all about.
Shame on you who say it means nothing. I feel sorry you can't think beyond your own shortcomings.

To me, Christmas is a time when change happens - it is almost time to welcome a new year and say goodbye to an old one. It is also a time to get together with family and celebrate with friends. You get some time off school and work to just enjoy the holiday and gather around the fireplace. Yes, it is a nice addition when there is snow outside, too. It makes the whole X-Mas experience all the more fun. I love it. =]

Birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, Family getting together and friends also, Christmas lights and Trees and decorations, The North Pole idea makes me get into the fun side of Christmas. Even tho I won't teach my future children that Santa brought them toys I love the idea of using Santa Claus as decorations and fun. We should enjoy ourselves.

I love just the feeling of it. When Christmas comes around I feel really happy and joyful. My friends are so much fun..extra crazy around that time of the year. It is also my birthday on the 22nd so that makes me feel even better. Christmas is a warm(good feeling) and joyful holiday. I ♥ it!

Christmas to me means... dread, dispair and... having to put up with my quarreling family, while trying to pretend everything is okay because it's Christmas. Also hideous sweaters!
Yes, I'm bitter about the holidays.
