How do they make sure this aid (or a part of it) does not end up in the coffers of the receiving countries corrupt govt. officials?

Unless you are a shareholder of the World Bank or the IMF I don't see how this should concern you.

It's not like they are asking for your money like the Red Cross, Greenpeace or the Salvation Army.

THE IMF , WORLD BANK All have volunteers and this enable the Aid money to go into the habds of the needy.
However the middle men, distribution agencies also take a great share , some of which is justified and some UNJUSTIFIED.
there is no FOOL PROOF Mechanism and we have to LIVE by all this because of the scale of operations is so large
