Every PC has an IP address, this changes (normally) evertime you disconnect an reconenct to the net. If you are found to be doing anything bad on a network like yahoo or something simular, they can contact the owner of the IP address (your ISP) and ask them who was using it at specific time on specific date. They can then find your acct and know all you details.

Howevere there is a way to overide this its called using a Proxy to mask your IP address. www.cjb.net has one you can use for free.
And no i dont' suggest you use one as there is no telling how much it will slow your net connection or cause problems on websites.

yeahoo has ur ip address of ur network when you login to yahoo its self they do this to keep a watch on all users on yahoo to make sure there not bean bad
