On Wednesday's episode Ben said they discovered his tumor the day before the plane crashed on the island, could this be why? I wondered at first if Juliet and Ben had been in a relationship that ended badly, but I guess they're leaving all that up in the air. Any ideas?

I'm talking about the first episode of the season when she was preparing for the book club meeting. She hadn't even met Jack yet at this point and was clearly not feeling bad about him.

I don't see that at all - I think Juliet was upset because she feels bad for Jack and is starting to have feelings for him. She doesn't want Ben saved and wanted to make sure Jack got that message. I really like her character.
ADD: OHHHHHHHH.... I know what you mean!! Yes, you're right. She also had a very snide remark about Ben when they were talking about the book selection. I remember thinking, huh - wonder what THAT was about. She definitely seems bitter when it comes to him and does NOT want to answer to him. It was never shown why she was upset with him but I am sure we will be getting her back story soon!!
