The Indian voters have time and again elected the likes of criminals, daciots, murderers, and some good people like movie stars (but still inexperienced in politics), therefore I think we are producing such a mess in the govt. So many criminal cases are pending against such people, the MPs, MLAs, the Ministers etc..

Even the US has started this, I mean they elected Arnold as the governor of California, what did he know about running a state other than acting in Terminator movies?

A good politician sometimes does not mean only a good eduction and experience. Sometimes it is a person with a heart that would care genuinely for the welfare of the citizenry.

Being an Indian, I am not competent enough to answer the second part of the question. As for India, the pre-qualifications set forth by all the political parties for a contestant, are as follows: 1. The Contestant's money power 2. Religion/Caste 3. Criminal Record (the best criminal is one who does all the heinuous crimes yet does not figure in the police records). When such people are elected what do you expect from them. 1.They do anything for the sake of money because they want the best return on their investment during elections 2. Ensure that there is absolutely no communal harmony so as to keep their vote bank intact. 3. Encourage anti-social elements so as to protect their vested interests.

In such a scenario, the only thing that comes to my mind is to change the whole electoral system. Whatever the Election Commission of India is doing right now is commendable but just not enough. They need to be given more powers rather brutal powers.

First, in response to a previous answerer, I believe the questioner's name indicates that he or she is an Apache Indian, so he has the wrong continent. Second, to the questioner, please show me one nation whose government is not significantly flawed. The best I've come to expect is to at least not get hosed too badly. Furthermore, I'm not entirely sure that a lack of political experience is always a bad thing. Sometimes, fresh perspectives are needed, and as long as they have the experience to fulfill the duties of their job and I can reasonably expect that they'll be able to do their jobs in a competent manner, I'll be willing to at least consider voting for them. The founders of the United States envisioned a nation where people would serve their country and then head back to their business. Perhaps if we saw more of that instead of seeing second and third generation career politicians, our nation would be in better shape.

This is true of all developing countries. It will take time for electorate to mature. Indian electorate has displayed remarkable maturity in changing governments at centre as well as states. I feel educating the masses will change this situation.

Its difficult but possible by spreading awareness among people by telling them what exactly they need and what are they being denied from etc...these information must be given to every children from their childhood only then will they know their rights...the entire government is opaque then how will there be awareness?? the fundamental frame itself is wrong!! But still a change is possible!! How many are willing to spread the knowledge?? Thats what is needed to be known!!
