Ladies, would you french kiss your ex-husband if his teeth were all rotted out? I had a reunion with my ex- husband after 17 years this past summer. We didn't do anything except go out to dinner and talk about the old times, but I couldn't believe when I noticed his teeth were really gross and decayed. He wanted to kiss me, but I turned my head. Am I cruel or do I just have higher expectations?

I do not think that you are cruel, or that your expectations are too high. I believe you are a woman who naturally likes and expects a man to have good hygiene, good manners, and perhaps good looks. You have standards and boundaries just like most women do. I believe it just means that as a woman you have the right to decide whose mouth you will explore with your tongue...and wether you are still the adventurous type, or have mellowed a bit with the passage of time.

Obviously bad teeth are a statement on many different levels, the first to be hygene. The next is misplaced priorities. Not only are bad teeth gross and carry with them bad smell, but serious decay can lead to many other health issues as well. While I am not a vain person, I have definately purchased a Mercedes or two for my dentist. I have semi annual exams and if there is a problem I have it taken care of immediately. I would also worry that on some level this does not seem to bother him. Bottom line, I wouldn't have kissed him either. Have higher expectations, even if he doesn't seem to.

No nothing worse then someone not taking care of their teeth. You can also develop cavities as well if you kiss him. You might want to suggest that he sees a dentist. I really do not blame you for not wanting to kiss him. He needs to have better oral hygiene.

it's not cruel, would he like to stick his tongue in someones mouth who had teeth like his??? if it's higher expectations to prefer teeth that aren't rotten, or gone, i think a lot of us have the same preference

Absolutely not ! YUCK ! No disrespect intended, but could he possibly be a meth addict? I work in a dental clinic where we deal we meth users and it sounds like maybe he might have a problem. Either that or his oral hygiene is attrocious !
