There is always a chance of becoming pregnant when you are sexually active. Though your chances are slim, it could still happen.
All it takes it that 1 little sperm.
As far as the protection goes....
"About 14 out of 100 women who use condoms will become pregnant during the first year of typical use. Only two women will become pregnant with perfect use. More protection against pregnancy is possible if condoms are used with a spermicide such as a foam, jelly, suppository, film, or if combined with another birth control method such as the pill, patch, Depo shot, etc. The Pill is one of the most effective reversible methods of birth control available. Of every 100 women who use the Pill, only five will become pregnant during the first year of typical use. Fewer than one will become pregnant with perfect use. Birth control pills work best if taken at about the same time every day. Pregnancy can happen if an error is made in using the Pill — especially if 1) pills are started too late in the cycle, 2) two or more pills are missed in a row, 3) pills are taken in the wrong order. In cases like these, a back-up method such as a condom, would decrease the probability of pregnancy. The birth control pill does not offer any protection from STD’s. Latex and female condoms can also help prevent the transmission of STD’s such as HIV."
And sex while on your period:

About as good as you winning the lottery next week. Having a period means you are shedding your uterine lining; you don't need it because you didn't get pregnant the last time you ovulated. Ovulation happens approximately two weeks *before* your next period. Condoms are effective when used properly - the failure rate is around 2-3% and more like 12% when they aren't used properly. So I'd say... not that high.

I was told that there is always a chance even while your on your period because just because your on your period doesn't mean that another egg is not being released. Stranger things have happened. But the condoms should take care of that.

a cheap condom is 70% effective and a well made latex condom is 86% and a high quality latex condom with spermicide is 95% effective and on top of having your period the chances of you getting pregnant are slim to none

Slim to none.....but not zero! There has to be an egg and sperm present at the same time, and you have all but negated both of these factors. Generally speaking, while on your period the egg is past it's prime for fertilization. Using a condom prevents sperm from entering the vagina. Now, becoming pregnant during your period is not impossible, and a condom not breaking or not having some semen leak out isn't a guarantee, but the chances in this case are pretty slim due to the combination. I would say about one in 15000.... :D

YES, because I got prego on my period, and was also on the pill.
If you arent willing and able to raise a child with the person you are intimate with, then you shouldnt have sex at all. Babies can happen no matter how "careful" you are, and no matter what time of the month it is.

0 if the condem doesnt break, i'm pretty sure you cant get pregnant suring your cycle, your body is releasing unfertilized eggs. If your worried about it talk to your gyno, she can give you all the facts and diff methods of not getting pregnant, perhaps the birth control pill, or the morning after, they are now selling it over the counter, a real break through for women! LOL

Pretty slim but your chances of getting HPV is 100% since HPV is spread by skin to skin contact not bodily fluids. So if your partner has HPV, touches his penis/balls etc and then touches you guess what?
