That is honestly a good question!!
Your very correct in your statement. Americans are too lazy to go vote!! Hopefully all of America has learned the lesson of staying home on election day.
Because when less than half of ALL Americans show up to vote, we get a President like George W. Bush and a congress like the congress we have....and so on....
And we can't make this mistake ever again!!
What we as a country have become, we are not about, and have never been about..

Why do dictators around the world ignore their constituents and throw missiles across countries? Why do women, poor, poor, women who live in countries with absolutely no equality for them, live like slaves in their society? But you wouldn't know what slavery is like, since you are so blessed with this "perverted democracy" that kept you safe and warm at night. And free from government employees from walking right into your home in the middle of the night and making a cheese sandwich with your kids' food.
I don't know. I guess if the people in other countries actually had a chance to vote, whether we helped them to reach that point or not, they might be more motivated to a good voter turnout than we would be.

Voting is not Democracy, only a right there of.
As for lazy or shiftless that may be. But being a Democracy that is their right.
