Of course, closed. The people having problem in nostrils breathing only sleep with open mouth.
Your open mouth can arouse your spouse to put something in it.

Closed normally, but when on a road trip in the car sitting in the front seat, OPEN. I hate it when I can't find a comfortable spot!

Closed I hope. Sleeping with your mouth open(even awake) dries your teeth out-not good. And what if something crawled in there........You know on the average people eat eight spiders in their lifetime..........
