1/2 X + 6 = 3 + 2X
Subtract 1/2 X from both sides, subtract 3 from both sides:
3 = 1.5X
Divide both sides by 1.5:
X = 2

Multiply both sides by 2 to get rid of the fractions:
2(1/2x+6)=2(3+2x)
x+12=6+4x
Subtract 4x on both sides:
-3x+12=6
Subtract 12 on both sides:
-3x=-6
x=2
Check:
2+12=6+4(2)
14=6+8
14=14
Anyone who has 2 for their answers deserve a thumbs up for it.

so first you separate the x's by subracting 1/2 x from both sides
1/2x + 6 = 3 + 2x
-1/2x -1/2x
6 = 3 + 1 1/2x, then you subtract three from both sides
-3 -3
3 = 1 1/2x , then you divide both sides by 1 1/2 or 1.5 to solve for x
2 = x

1/2x + 6 = 3 + 2x
First put all X's on one side
1/2x + 6 = 3 + 2x
-1/2x -1/2x
6 = 3 + 1 1/2x
Then subtract the numbers without X
6 = 3 + 1 1/2x
-3 -3
3= 1 1/2x
Then get X by itself
3/ 1.5= 1 1/2 /1.5 x (1 1/2 is the same as 1.5, I just thought it would be clearer when dividing)
2= x
Then that's how you get your answer.

First, collect like terms. Subtract 1/2 x from each side: 6 = 3 + 1 1/2 x. Then subtract 3 from each side: 3 = 1 1/2 x. Now, divide each side by 1 1/2: 2 = x and that's your answer.

1/2x + 6 = 3 + 2x
2(1/2x) + 2(6) = 2(3) + 2(2x)
x + 12 = 6 + 4x
x + 12 - x = 6 + 4x - x
12 = 6 + 3x
12 - 6 = 6 + 3x - 6
6 = 3x
6/3 = 3x/3
2 = x
The answer is x = 2

1/2 X -1/2 X +6 = 3 + 2X - 1/2X
6 -3 = 3 -3 + 2X - 1/2X
3 = 1 1/2 X / 1 1/2
3 / 1 1/2 = X
X = 2
Thats hard to type for some reason!

1/2 x + 6 = 3 + 2x
x/2 = 3 - 6 + 2x (Subtract 6 from both sides)
x/2 = 2x - 3
x = 2(2x - 3) [Multiply 2 with both sides]
x = 4x - 6
x - 4x = -6 (Subtract 4x from both sides)
-3x = -6
3x = 6 (The minus signs will cancel each other out)
x = 6/3 (Divide 3 with both sides
x = 2
