I guess you're using a PC so you need windows XP home pro or media, MS Office student, basic or full, Adobe Reader, Internet explorer 7, I Tunes if you've got an iPod, Windows media player if not, some sort of anti virus AVG is free and good, a spyware detector like ad-aware, also free from komando.com and divers to run your printers, and such any specialty software and I like ERASER also free at komando a DOD recycle software or scrubber so nobody pulls up deleted files, Download ebay, a photo editor is good, quicktime (free at apple) that should be it as far as basics. good luck
