I would think that anywhere in the World [Why single out America?]; it would be "The smarter you work, the richer you'll be!"

Look at all the rich men.

They didn't get rich by working hard by themselves.

They got rich by having the right concept and getting other people to work for them.

All the best.

It's more like "you have to work really really hard to have anything unless you're born rich" but working hard doesn't necessarily guarantee you a decent life. Also, some of the most demanding jobs (lawn work, waitressing, working road construction with cars wizzing by your face, etc) don't pay an equivalent to the amount of effort the employee puts out. Also these are the kind of jobs where the employees get discarded without a second thought. At the same time, rich businessmen have meetings at strip clubs and over golf and get paid millions to do it.

No , that is not the way it works .Most people who have money here hardly work at all .
Those of us who have worked physically all of our lives are lucky to be getting by . Medical bills , taxes , and the everyday cost of living bleed us daily .

Very sad . We really need a better system .

No. Look at the news just today, we have an evangelist, working tax free, earning millions per year off the record, and spending it on meth and homosexual hookers. This guy has done virtually no work, unless you consider duping the public as work, and he gets a free life, tax free, and then gets to spend it back on the sinning he is claiming to help stop. Obviously working hard to earn your money is the suckers way. The best way is to trick people and raise money for "God".

It depends on what you work at. Remember, no one ever got rich by working for a living. But if you work at something else that produces income, you have a good chance for riches. I believe that it true no matter where you live.

In most cases, yes. If you work hard at your grades and get into a good college. Then get your degree and get your job. To further your carreer you need good people skills and work ethics, not just intelligence. You have to look food and feel good and you'll get far in life.

But being a straight A student does not make you a millionaire.
