10-20 years ago it was simpler...the democrats were for blue collar and more environmental...the Repupl;icans were always for big business and a bigger military budget....classic bread and butter against guns...there was a balance, both got their way once in a while....now the issue is getting clouded because the Republicans have reversed their ideology (causing the Democrats to change as well) from nothing but the economy stupid to global intervention in the name of business. but to be fair, there are traditionalists on both sides.

I recommend an over the counter painkiller for children, a stuffed animal, and a strong night light, because the answer to that one will neither be comfortable nor easy, and may end in tears.

Try shaking them up in a flour sack and then listening to them and you will find there really isnt any- although they claim they have different philosophies, it depends on whether or not they are in office. Tell your son, to never vote party, but to listen to what is being said, research the candidate, and vote for the one who best represents his needs and views.

I tell my kids that all politicians lie, especially about spending. When Republicans lie they spend more on the military and tax cuts. When Democrats lie they spend more on education, the environment, and social programs. You have to decide which is more important to you.

Republicans are for the government itself and who should be in the government. Democrats are for the people in our nation.
