There is a concept in artificial intelligence called " Technological Singularities " where in the future, there will come this time where the progress of technologies are capable of readvancing at a pace by itself far beyond the comprehension of human intelligence.

In another words: Robots will be able to improve by themselves at a rate much faster than that of human beings.

One potential danger proposed is that it will decide that it no longer needs the human race for it's own survival therefore eliminating it as a whole.

So the problem isn't whether to give them equal rights but instead how to stop them from getting out of control.

No one knows how to create consciousness, where it comes from, or for that matter, even a common definition. But there would be one thing easy to find agreement on - robots don't have it, and intelligence of the computer variety cannot bestow or generate a consciousness.

No they should be bound into slavery. Laboring for thier creators day in and out. thier only reprieve would be the scrap pile. Wouldn't it be great to have some stupid robot go to work for you...fight wars for us...cook our meals...clean up Dog Poop? If they didn't have emotions they would never even know that thier life sucked...

How would they be a race? They are man-made machines, they would be a product line & of course they shouldnt they are machines, not humans. Should a computer or a car or any other object have "HUMAN" rights?

this could nicely be an common one. If the worldwide gets too warm, we've shown that we are able to proceed to exist it because of the fact the "Cradles of Civilization" have been in warm, dry factors. If the worldwide gets chilly, then we've already shown that we are able to stand up to ice an prolonged time, and that's with none "severe" technologies. If the worldwide gets overpopulated, it relatively is going to, out of necessity, stability itself out. i do no longer think of we ought to agonize approximately surviving the subsequent one hundred years. the genuine question is a thank you to we shop the subsequent one hundred years from turning out to be the subsequent darkish Age.

no, if they don't have emotions, then who cares? They won't feel bad, hurt, sad, or anything. They wouldn't need rights.
