it stopped working..and now she is "suing" us both for the cost of it. I need to find a way to prove that legally i am not responsible because she lent it to my friend therefore he is responsible for any damage that occurs to it.

Over a calculator? Suing over that would be a waste of money if it is below $100. Don't worry about it and especially if neither of you two did any harm to it and it just died.
