That depends on the state and college. My college offers master's programs in Psychology and Business. My undergrad degree is a BA in Romance Languages (Emphasis in Spanish) and I could enter either of those master's programs. I chose the MBA. However, I had to start with 4 "leveling courses" which are basic undergrad level business courses that are designed to get me up to a level to be ready for the graduate courses.
Ask at some of your area universities and see what programs they have available. You do not necessarily have an undergrad degree in the same field.

Your first answer to your question is excellent. Masters degrees are great clean ups of undergrad mistakes. People with undergrads in oboe or philosophy (me) go to library school or M.ed to teach or work in their field. There are libraries for everything and an M.ed means you can teach at a community college. For an MFA you should be in a big city, here in Chicago we have Columbia, don’t go to the for profits or fly-by-nights. Make sure it is a good school. Ask your school if they would hire an MFA from that school, MFA is a terminal degree, there is no PHD. I’m a BS and a librarian, a Masters lets you do what you want to do.
