Join organizations/clubs. The type you join depends on your age group. If your in school then there are plenty of clubs to join. Find one your interested in... student government, science club, or athletics. If your not in school, then check out organizations in your city that sound interesting. Volunteering at a place can be rewarding in more than one way. You meet people with similar interests and you feel better about yourself for being able to help someone.

When you join an organization, then you get to spend time with people and get to know them better. Plus you'll have similar interests, which helps thing flow better. Overtime, if you meet people you find interesting then invite them to do stuff with you.

Overall, keep an optimistic attitude toward life and towards others and people will be more likely to want to hang out with you and be your friend.

Amazing how so many fools asnwer a foolish question. Wake up people go do something worthwhile. Read a book, get educated, get real. How the hell do you think you get friends ? The vegetables on here answering this question are so far up themselves and oh so insecure that they cannot be friends. What do you call friendly ? How do you like people to treat you ? Well, treat people likewise and it will lead to companionship if not friendship.

Do things that interest you and be a friend to the people who are also taking part in these activities because you'll already have something in common and soon you'll have a lot of friends. The main thing is to treat people as you would like to be treated.

First, be willing to think about what kind of friends you want. Often, when you don't think you have friends, it's because you aren't 'popular' or 'cool'. But being popular doesn't get you friends. Instead, it only makes it harder to have true friendships. Pick somebody to approach to make friends. Help them out. Just say hi. It's easy going from there.

Send me an e-mail. If you're old enough, I'll be your friend. Other than that, you just have to be yourself and try to get to know people. If they don't want to be your friend you're better off without them. Don't try to change yourself to make friends. You do have to make an effort though. If someone interests you, show that you are interested. Ask questions, give compliments, make conversation.

Try talking to people. Are you interested in online friends or REAL friends? Hopefully the real kind. Just talk to people that are at the places you go to. If you are in school, talk to people there. If not, go to the local hangout and introduce yourself to different types of people. If you just sit at home, no one is going to notice you.
