Right. Did you create this file? There may be an application which has the file open. If you have a window open showing the filename in a directory display in two places, you will not be able to delete the file from either as the other window has a hold on it, making it "in-use" and you can not delete a file in use. So, maybe you can't find what is holding the file open. Restart in DOS mode.

Use CD like this at the C:\> prompt

C:\>CD "c:\windows\desktop\my documents"

The quote marks are required since there is a space in the my documents folder name. Once in the subdirectory, do a DIR list to see the file names. And then DEL the specific file. Without special tools, there is NO undoing this. Be sure you get the file name correct. It used to be that this method was the only way to remove the IE icon from the desktop.

These kind of trouble occurs when some problem is trying to access that perticular file. As you said the file lies in My Documents that can be some temp file associated with some programs installed on your Comp. If you are quite sure that you want to delete the file, please try deleting the file in command prompt.

You you find it difficult to delete in Command prompt ... reboot the system in command prompt (F8 during boot) and delete the file. Post Queries to technoblitzs@gmail

It's porno, isn't it? First things first, do not download porno from the internet! Second, see if you can hold left click on it and drag it to your desktop, and then move it to your recycle bin.
