Great question Ashley. As for vanity and fashion i would say we are just a little more obsessed than straight guys but not much. We are into looking good but we don't all go out and get facials and manicures like everyone thinks. If you were in a room with 100, 50 gay and 50 straight, you would have a difficult time telling them apart unless you asked them.
As far as the question about us being more obsessed with sex, I would say no. All guys are obsessed with sex. The difference being is that gay guys date other gay guys so sex is much more easy to get! Straight guys have it tougher because they need to wine, dine, charm and romance a girl before he can make the moves! :)

No. I am not. I dont believe MOST gay men are either. Reality is...MOST gay men look and act like straight men. So much so, that most straight people have no clue that they are gay... It is only the minority of gays who obsess with vanity, etc...they are the obviously gay guys and the ones that create the stereotype.

No, I see just as many vapid heterosexual men willing to swallow everything that spews forth from a fashion magazine. None of the Gay men I know are like that at all.

it totaly depends wether they are out or not and to what degree I have a friend who is very butch hence he had to tell me he was gay after we met at work. So he has this persona that says straight but after getting to know him he is very gay but he has become like one of my best friends. There is this other guy who is really out named Keith and he is like pushy gay and tries to get you to come to his house all the time but yeah I went there once because we were out doing a union gig and dude must have put some porn and asked me if I wanted to take my shoes off and I was like dude we have to go that experience was annoying I mean he assumed he was going to score with me I guess. I later found out from the friend I mentioned 1st that they were having a like contest to see who could turn me out I did not know wether to be flattered or pissed

yes! most straight guys don't care. their wives or girlfriends do most of their shopping (if not all) i'd say 23% of straight men even think about it at all.
