I'm using a VIAO laptop that's just a model out of date and I don't think there's a thing it can't do. It has an intel 1.8Ghz Centrino Duo processor with an nVIDIA video controller. The only thing I updated when I bought it was the memory, I maxed it out at 2Gb. I can run iTunes downloading CDs to my hard drive and run Epson scanning programs at the same time with full Norton security running in the background and not miss a beat. I'm a heavy user and I'm not disappointed! My gaming is really R/C flight simulator programs and I can fly on line with my Norton programs running with no slow down or loss of graphics...

Depends on the video chipset. Right click on the desktop, go to Properties, Settings, and see where it says "monitor on video card". If that video chipset is Intel, Via, or Sis then no games for you. If it is Nvidia or ATI you'll be able to play some games.
