Everytime i finish driving and get out of my car i get a hefty shock; static i'm assuming - and hoping :) . Is this normal? It seems it only happens in my car. Is it a common problem or.....?

It can be a combination of the type of interior material and the material in your clothing.When you go to get out try holding your key in your hand and put it against a bare metal part as you step out,this will discharge the static to the car,this also a good thing to do before pumping fuel.A rubber strap hanging from the bumper to the ground will discharge this static as well

That's the result of static electricity generated by your *** rubbing against the seat as you get in and out of the car. It's perfectly normal. If you do a little searching, you can find an anti-static spray you can apply to the seat that will stop the problem.

It is pretty common especially during the winter when the air is cold and dry. That why they tell you to be careful when you get out of the car to pump gas. That you should touch the car before you touch the gas pump to discharge any static.

It's common. It's from sliding out of your nice modern synthetic seat. You need to hold on to a piece of metal when you get out. That will discharge you without the lightning bolt.

this is normal. try being a mechanic, getting in and out of cars all day. man it's irritating
