The easy answer is that they could have just not tolerated Hitler and not allowed him to kill so many people. However, the reality of the Holocaust wasn't that clear-cut.

The German population was in bad shape after World War One and they were looking for a scapegoat. The Jews were an easy target, and at first people just said bad stuff about them. If someone makes a racist joke (or a religious joke, or a blonde joke), do you always speak out against it? Would you if your personal safety could be at risk, or would you figure there was no harm and just let it go?

What if the government decided that a certain group of people (a group you didn't belong to) couldn't hold certain jobs or belong to certain clubs? Would you speak out? What if you were a small business owner and suddenly you were the only one in your neighborhood permitted to own a store, so your profits went way up? Would you complain, or would you think it didn't concern you?

Freedoms were taken away a tiny bit at a time and since nobody complained about the little things, the Nazis gained more power and when people finally tried to stop them, it was too late.

There is no excuse for what happened in the Holocaust, but I think it's far too easy for people to look back at it and condemn those who lived through it and think we are somehow better and would have stopped it from happening.

usually someone's are to blame for his or her governments. Nazi party grew to become into in certainty elected into place of work (potential). So on the time of WWII the german people supported the Nazi government the two nevertheless direct action or maybe by potential of in-action (going with the bypass). There are nonetheless people who alive on the instant that fought in that conflict. so as that they are naturually going to hold a grudy against Germany, merely as people who faught Japan. As to Hilter no longer being german, we he ruled German and thats what counts. An as of on the instant Germany will merely ought to go through contained in the direction of the undesirable press. German did initiate 2 no longer a million yet 2 of the bloodest wars in history. they are additionally the 1st wars that throughout touch a huge precent of the international's inhabitants. So it is going to take the international a jointly as to undergo in recommendations Germany for different element to boot those wars. If Germany somewhat need the international to ignore they ought to return up with something somewhat, somewhat great to do as a u . s . (i'm no longer say you are able to by using fact it would must be somewhat, somewhat recommendations blowing and influence the full international.) yet occasion could be if Germany prefected a scientific care to end human transforming into older and then made is obtainable on a international, low priced scale.

Hitler was not the only person in Nazi Germany who hated the Jews. Don't forget...Hitler was elected to office by the German people, and they knew full well how much he blamed the Jews for the economic problems Germany experienced after the end of World War I.

They could do absolutely nothing. Most people living in Germany were either in the camps or family members of the Nazi soldiers.

Unless you're talking about a massive uprising by common people against a well-armed militia, shock troops, and SS, there's nothing they could have done. My grandmother knew someone in her village that spoke out against the Nazis. He was killed, horribly. People were very scared, and for good reason.

Just say "Nein, mein Fuhrer!" No, just joking.

It started way back, way back. Many little actions lead to one big mess.

When you talk badly about a group of people, this act, however little it seems, contributes to a Holocaust some day. That's why racism and bigotry are evil.

Think about it.

Just like in the USA. What can we do to stop the killing the USA is doing in IRAQ ? Nothing. We let a whacko who was power hungry run out of control with a powerful military force.
They let things go too far, like starting a forest fire- impossible to stop.

They let one man to rule them all. There is power in the strengths and numbers of people, unfortunately, they were afraid that they might be murdered and Hilter used that against them. He supposedly "brain-washed" them and if the people were smart to overpower Hilter and his horrible government then 6 million Jews would be saved and their families here today.
