Not all of them, there are foreign people living there as well.
Just jocking, people should stop generalizing. Not all americans are bad (well, I think).

It's complete nonsense. Scousers have had a bad reputation for quite a while now but this is probably due to the media since the 1980's. In the 1960's the area was known for it's music, in the 1970's it's comedians. Perhaps the high unemployment of the next decade and TV programs like 'Boys From The Black Stuff' gave the area a bad image. Harry Enfield's TV program with the "calm down, are you starting" characters polarized this even further. Nowadays we are confronted with the yobbish behavior of top footballers like Joey Barton (actually from Huyton), the Rooney family antics and stories about the thieving Gerrards (have you heard them, I have). Blame the media. Liverpool is a fantastic place to visit and the people are very friendly. Let's bin the ignorant stereotypes. Think Liverpool, think Beatles, fine architecture, a great sense of humour and football.

I am a scouser and I'm neither a scrounger or a thief.
I don't understand how these generalisations gain any credence
You only have to look at information provided by the police which shows that Liverpool is not top of the crime league; In fact our neighbouring city,Manchester harbours far more criminal activity.
Some people are gullible and fall for all stereotypical rubbish:
the Irish are thick, the Scots are mean, the welsh do bad things to sheep and Americans are loud ,brash and have no sense of irony
By the way, could you lend me £20 'till I get my memory back?
(just kiddin') Regards, Mick

I am from Liverpool and can assure you that not all of us are thieves and scroungers. There are, as with anywhere in the world,a lot of very good people here.It is a sweeping generalisation, perpetuated by the uneducated to class us all as one.

im not from liverpool, but thats nonesense, they are not all scroungers and thieves at all. There will be some of course, just like there is everywhere. They say americans are loud and freeloaders, but again, there will be some, but not all.

i am from glasgow, i do not think all liverpool people are like that, i have only ever met one person from liverpool and i am still in contact with this person as they are one of the nicest people i have ever met. however she hated the fact that being from liverpool people were quick to judge, but that did not stop her being proud of where she came from and showing people that although from liverpool she was a great person who was proud of coming from there and showing off her scouse accent!

Jeez, again with generalizing. Why do you say all the Brits? Not all Brits say that about Liverpudlians, just like I hate it when people say sh**e about us Americans.
Are ALL Americans idiots? Do we ALL love the President? Are we ALL Republicans? I can seriously say no to all three, I'm sure you're seeing my point here........
People from Liverpool are just like anyone else, there's the good and the bad. Duh.
