I'll give you the answers that doctors have given over time:

1. To discourage masturbation. (pre ww2). Uncircumcised males masturbate (usually) by pumping the foreskin back and forth. The doctors (who would likely have been uncircumcised themselves) reasoned that circumcision would prevent - or at least discourage - masturbation.. Maybe it worked back then, when every kid didn't have easy access to hand cream, vaseline, etc....

2: cleanliness (post ww2). Cause everyone knows you can't convince a man to soap up his hand and run it over his penis.

3: aids transmission rates seem affected (today). This one might be true. THough probably not so true that it would affect whether you should wear a condom, and if you're wearing one, doesn't matter much.

As for the performance impacts, its hard to get straight data. Most cultures seem convinced that whatever status is normal where they are is superior.

How about three reasons not to:

1. If you shower daily and pull back the foreskin , there is not any concern for cleanliness.
2. The American Academy of Pediatrics leaves the decision up to the parents and does NOT endorse the procedure since 1991.
3. The US is the only place where most baby boys are circumcised;
Canadian and UK national health care plans stopped paying for it years ago.

Oh and 4. It is better for sexual intercourse to have a foreskin, it makes the head of the penis more sensitive. Think of your eye under the eyelid. BE PROUD OF HOW GOD CREATED A MAN!

All of these reasons that it "looks clean" and "is good for oral sex" is BS. If you lived in a country other than the US they would say it's BS too. Oral sex on an uncircumcized penis is just as clean as circumsized as long as the man is taking care to be clean. And the woman needs to learn how to pull back the skin. DOH.

An uncircumcised has only to be clean (Water to flush the preputial skin always from urine after peeing and from secretions after sex) and you're a happy clean man for the rest of your life.
We have water today and we use it.
A protected glans is a very sensitive and enjoyable organ. Circumcised people are nervous lovers (studies)...

Circumcision is in fact a barbaric habit inheritated from primitive populations when dirt and un cleanness used to kill people. (The forskin is indeed under risk of infection if not clean). It was prescribed by the Bible when primitive jews used to fornicate around with their own mothers and sisters. Islam (The Koran copying the Bible) followed with the same recognizable exterior sign of religion. Christians and other populations around the world do not have it as a religious rule.
Herodus the Roman ruler of Israel ordered the killing of all uncircumcised males when Christ was born.

1. It is a cultural thing. Filipinos, like me, and other cultures circumcised their boys.
2. If you are a Christian, Bible states that descendants of Abraham are circumcised.
3. Probably, it is hygenic because bacteria and germs does not stay there!!!
