It just lingers and slowly expands into the surrounding air in a random pattern -- if it could be colored, it would look something like the crab nebula.

Oh crap. I haven't even thought of that one before! I guess it doesn't, (they probably thought of how to deal with that)...but I'd like to think that it does...ahh, nothing like knowing yourself more inside that spacesuit.
