Avoid craigslist. A few years ago, it was one of the best places, but since then, everyone else has discovered it and it's become a cesspool of crap.
If you want to find the best jobs, try jobs.joelonsoftware.com. They have a process for rating companies that are good places for programmers to work, plus it costs a lot to post a job posting there ($300!), so it keeps all the low-quality stuff out.
