Let's say stem cell research AND cloning were legalized nation wide as some are proposing now. 45 year old Jane Doe is very ill and stem cell/cloning may well cure her. Jane has a healthy, married, mother of one, 24 year old daughter. If this daughter were to get pregnant, have the proper stem cells etc. removed from the fetus, then implanted into her mother, her mother may overcome her health problem. Is this a good idea? The stem cells would be of a direct blood line. A cure may well be possible. If stem cell research/cloning were legalized, this sort of scenario could be a reality. I have definate feelings on this issue but I will reserve them for now and ask your opinion. Thank You

I'm against stem cell "research". From what I hear, you can get the same cells from a new born babies umbilical cord, or from adults. Killing a child for a cell, or any reason is ridiculous!
Cloning is a disaster waiting to happen, manipulating cells and DNA is almost never a good idea.

Many scientists, medical doctors and researchers have a god-like complicated. using fact they can't preclude and treatment the illnesses we've already got and be stricken by, they experience the ought to return up with innovating concepts to make a attractiveness for themselves. Cloning? isn't it God's job to create existence? the place will this lead and the place will it end? Stem cellular examine? Take area of a created individual and use it to help out an ill human. the place might this lead and the place might it end? Genetic Engineering? Engineering is the be conscious that throws me right here. i'm against all 3 and no i does no longer partake in any of them notwithstanding if i mandatory a heart. Embryonic stem cellular is repulsive to me and the day will come while they'll pay women persons to get pregnant using fact there are not adequate embryonic stem cells to circulate around. guy abuses each and everything!

STEM CELL RESEARCH is already legal and being hotly persued in private labs all over the U.S. Why in the world would a tax paying person want the government to waste their hard earned cash on something they know nothing about. Case in point the silly people of California have allocated 2.3 BILLION dollars for stem cell research they appointed a real estate developer to oversee the money. The state got sued now no one is sure where the money went. Private labs have hundreds of pharmaceuticals now before the FDA waiting for approval one of them may be the one you are looking for.
Ask yourself; when is the last time the government invented anything. The government ought to concentrate their efforts on delivering the mail and improving voting booths and stay out of stem cell research. There is a Madam currie or a Jonas Salk out their right now slaving over a petre dish, on the cutting edge of discovery, while silly people throw billions of dollars at the government and fight over things like stem-cell research that they know nothing about. Politicians drool at the sight of stem-cell research money. And I just grit my teeth.

Could, may, might, scenerio, propose, etc.
Playing God by cloning should be taken seriously. If there were proof that it would work at curing just ONE disease, you might have an argument. Until then, it's just another rainbow group soaking government grants.

Stems cells can be taken from your own body.

And they can heal you.

They are taken from certain tissues in your body.

There is no need for fetuses or cloning or any of that.

They are doing it in Thailand right now with people with heart conditions.

in this specific situation if both mother and daughter sign papers to make it totally legal there doesn't appear to be a problem. but in a general scenario i think a lot more need to be done before this becomes viable and above board.

If people learn how to clone, I want them to clone my celebrity crush.

That would be the best. Then I can have my celeb crush from when it's a baby, and train it to love me.

Hehe. =]
