Well, let's see.... Bush's secretary of education is a woman named Miss Spellings (seriously) and her first order of business was to denounce PBS because they showed a happy lesbian couple....

I think there is a trickle-down effect when it comes to ignorance.

I also have to indicate that your question contains two grammatical errors. (Three, if we are being picky.)

1. "Why is ___5" (You probably meant to type, "Why is it that five...")

2. "questions - submit" (That should be a comma or just a space but not a dash.)

3. This is getting picky but you should also consider using a word other than "with". For example:

Why must five out of seven people who answer our questions submit answers that implement (or demonstrate) deplorable or insufficient grammar?

You see, this is the beginning of a downward spiral, isn't it?
Maybe we should be forgiving of eachothers mistakes....

Seriously though, your grammar is still much better than most of what we see on this site.

Good question.

Actually, I don't come here for grammar lessons....I come here just to relax and have a little fun. If I sometimes misspell a word, or forget to hit check spelling, I don't expect to be criticized for it, but hey, if that happens.....oh well, no big deal.
I think alot of people get excited about their answers and just don't think about the spelling. They just wanna say what they think is the best thing first. Usually, you can understand what they meant, even if it is misspelled.

Lazy. On messengers how many of us actually use perfect grammar. We don't go on Word to spell check our answers. Just because your from the ghetto doesn't mean you're illiterate, you just can't get or keep a job.

I believe most of them are kids who instant message all the time and have no use for proper spellings or the right use of grammar. It's a new breed of "language"...

I think they just don't care. They will type away and don't take time to use the spell check and I do think there are a lot the really don't know how to spell.

Trying to do to much to fast. Thinking it and putting it into words is very difficult for some people. Like me for one. If you can sort of understand what they're trying to say then the point has been made. Don't expect perfection.

I tnink it's just "computer language". Hopefully no one actually speaks the way they type! It's simply a quicker way to respond and go on to the next question.
