Physical Hunger can usually be determined by the last time you ate and the amount you ate. Psychological Hunger occurs at any time, including right after a meal. If your stomach is rumbling and its been a while since you ate, or ate a substantial meal, the hunger is probably physical. If you have eaten a substantial meal in the last few hours and you are looking for something specific to eat to make you happy, its in your head. Think of drinking. If you drink when you are thirsty that is physical, If you drink because you are out and being social, that is psychological.
