Oxyclean is the best stuff out there for that. When my youngest son was about 3 or 4 years old, he got red permanent marker all over a pair of pants. I thought I was going to have to throw them away. I bought a little tub of Oxyclean and it took every single hint of the red marker out. In fact, the pants looked brand new by the time the marker was out.

My 3 yr. old drew with a "Sharpie" allover my white carpets the only thing that worked to remove it was BUTANE the kind you use to refill lighters (but it has to be the aresole type.) The stuff freezes when dispensed. Just depress the nozzell w/ a small pointy object ie. a nail, onto the stain blot w/ paper towels & WA-Bam spots gone. Test a Small Spot First!
