apparently more than we thought ..a new one is kicked from the cabin daily. Really their preference in this matter is a non-issue to me,however this all-to-often hypocrisy in everything this party does ..underscores the need for change.

Gay Republicans have their own organization, known as the Log Cabin Republicans, which has 68 chapters nationwide. Because there aren't chapters in every city, and because people must pay to be members, the Log Cabin Republicans represent only a small fraction of the gays and lesbians who consider themselves Republicans.
Keep in mind that the terms "liberal" and "conservative" have many dimensions. For example, it's not unusual for someone to consider themself a social liberal, supporting gay equality and same-sex marriage, while at the same time being a fiscal conservative, pushing for lower taxes and constrained government. This is exactly the case with most Log Cabin Republicans.
Lately, with the Republican party using same-sex marriage as a wedge issue to drive conservative voters to the polls, gays are leaving the Republican party in droves. Those who are sticking with it are trying to change the party from the inside, pushing for greater social tolerance. But ultimately, this is why members of the LGBT community are far more likely to vote for Democrats.

First of all, I dont find the releveancy in the question, who cares if a republican is gay, to be honest, my boyfriends brother is gay and yes he is republican so theres one. There are more likely gay liberals and democrats than republican gays, republicans are usually the ones that speak out against it, I'm republican and I dont condem it at all, I feel they should be allowed to marry!! Everyone deserves that right, its reallyl no big deal either, think about all the divorces there are. Back to your question, there are more than likely a lot of gay people in general, that hide there gay feelings, think of politicans, and priests, I'm not trying to sound hateful, but it is the truth, homosexuality is percieved by many as not the "norm", so people hide that. LOL

Of course there are gay republicans. And they are hypocrites. They are the main ones out trying to demonize gay people, yet they are taking it in the rear also.
