There are too many movies that should never of had any sequels. The one movie I would say that one of the sequels was better than the original is: Star Trek: Wrath of Kahn.
The movie sequels that because they seem to "belong" are: Star Wars and Back to the Future.
The all-time number one sequel that sucked the worst was:Scarlett the sequel to
Gone with the Wind.
I always felt that moviemakers make sequels or remakes of movies because the have NO imagination. I wish they would think for themselves.

"Amityville II : The Possession": This one is much preferable to the original (or any of the sequels or remakes that followed it)
Unusual for a sequel to be better, they almost always get worse.
A notable exception is the "Mad Max" trio: each film was better than the previous one.
I used to always think "Aliens" was better than the original "Alien" but I recently saw both films again and now believe the original is slightly better, although they're both excellent.

There are many sequels that are better than the first.Star Wars,Legally Blonde,and even though this series is a book one the Narnia series just for a few examples.
