Well....I know you don't want to hear this, but it's a good thing: You're only 15. You have plenty of time to complete your goals. The good thing is that you have set your goals. Most kids your age don't even think about it. You will have to finish high school.....if you do good enough, you can get a scholarship. You will probably have to pick a school far away from home to get your degree after high school. Do your best in school and get your degree. Talk to your guidance counselors at your school, they are there for you too, not just the troubled kids. They will help you find the proper channels to help you get on the right track to begin your career quest. Good luck. Lawyers make good money. Know your laws. And stay out of trouble!

get good grades in high school. When you are a Jr/Sr, take electives like government and join the debate team. Go to college and continue being a good student. the counselors will help you get the right classes for a degree in whatever law field you find interesting ( there are many types of lawyers, not just prosecutors and defenders). Go to law school, pass the bar, and find a job. Good luck!

First, work as hard as you can in school to get the best grades possible. Pay particular attention to your English classes. The two most important skills for getting into law school are reading comprehension and writing. If you have the time and inclination, get involved with some worthwhile extracurricular activities. Get active in your community and spend some time doing some volunteer work. Stay away from drugs, underage drinking or anything else which might get you in legal trouble; people with criminal records find it difficult if not impossible to get licensed to practice law. After you graduate from high school, attend the very best college that you can afford. There isn't really any set "pre-law" curriculum so find a field that interests you and make that your major. Law schools tend to be full of political science, economics, history and business majors, but in my law class we had engineering, psychology, sociology, social work, religion and biology majors, not to mention a doctor and a dentist. I have always had the impression that law school admissions offices are looking for diversity in their selection process, so it may not hurt you to have an out of the ordinary undergraduate major. Do try to stay away from law related courses offered in undergraduate college if you can. They will be pretty much a waste of your time. No matter what you decide to major in, try to take classes that involve lots of reading and writing, like English. Work as hard as you can to get the best grades you can. Take the LSAT (Law School Aptitude Test) during the summer before your senior year in college. If you don't score as high as you'd like, you'll have a chance to retake the test before your law school applications will be due. Getting into a good law school is highly competitive, so it is vital that you have the best possible grades and the highest possible LSAT score. Apply to four or five different schools. As with college, you should be trying to get into the best schools that you can afford. There is lots of information about which law schools are the best. If you can get into a first tier law school, great, but if you can't don't be discouraged. You can get a good education at any law school which has ABA-AALS accreditiation. A basic law school education is three years. Law school is very hard work. It involves a ton of reading and writing. Writing ability is very important since all grades in law school are based on final exams and all finals are essay tests! Going to law school and becoming a lawyer is a very high and worthwhile goal. I'm glad that you are so interested at your age that you would ask your question here and give me a chance to give you my answer. I wish you the very best of luck and encourage you to get into the habit of working hard now, because that will be so important to you in future years.

Go to college, get a B.A. in political science or something loosly related to law. Go to graduate school for 4 more years and study law. You have a good 10 years before you become an actual lawyer.
