I have also read Indians would eat honey from local area. They felt it was part of nature and you binded with nature.

yes, honey works. also; burning small amounts of marijuana and mint in a sweat lodge provides temporary relief from most allergies. For poison ivy; pick early leaves in spring and eat them-- I never had the nerve to eat it, but I do rub the first leaves onto my torso and hands and never have had the rash.
