I want to make my own t-shirt with my own pictures using heat transfer paper so i can sell professional or at lest professional looking t-shirts but i would like to know what size or aspect ratio should the pictures i want to use be?
Any other helpful hints or tips would be helpful to thank you.

I use transfer paper bought from Walmart. It's ironed on. It does fade fairly fast.
You might want to put it on pillows, or cloth bags (to hold grocery items) as the design will last longer.
8 X 10 is good for adults.
1/2 that size for small children.

If you have a good artist's eye, go look at other t-shirts. See which ones you think look good and which you think look like too much picture or too much shirt. See what the differences are. I'd say, as a general rule, something the size of both your hands next to each other would be good for the front of a t-shirt -- if the person wearing it is roughly your size. For little kids, take something the size of the kid's two hands together. Try it out and see if it works: go to the store and try to cover the design on a t-shirt with both your hands. It'll be about the same size. Scenic t-shirts are different. Go t-shirt watching and see what you see.

Well, you'll probably want the image to have a resolution of 300 dpi, but other than that, as long as you keep the ratio in proportion so the image doesn't look skewed, you should be fine.
