I first saw the movie in high school and of course fell in love with all of the gorgeous characters!!! I recently bought the DVD (over 20 years later) and I still cried..it is so sad. I found it hard to believe that SE Hinton, the author of the book was a young woman...if you like reading try getting hold of TEX by SE Hinton. I loved it and once again the characters are based on underprivileged young men battling to survive. I read it in one day...couldn't put it down.......

I loved that movie & couldn't believe all the future star power it had in it! I thought Rob Lowe was an excellent pick as Sodapop & Patrick Swayze as Darry was awesome! I lalso loved Diane Keaton as Cherry. She looked so good in this movie. The book is better as with any movie, but I think this was pretty close to the book!

This is a great movie for so many reasons.
There are so many young actors in it.
Most, if not all, go on to be big stars.
Great to get to see them before they got to big time.
I collect all the films like this one that I can find.

It is a good movie but some parts are too bloody and scary. lol. I get scared really easily. I almost fainted ONLY watching the Saw 3 TRAILER.

It was ok. Like in most cases, the book was better. You just can't sum up all the little details, thoughts and nuances that are in a book in 90 minutes.
