I defended myself on a misdomener case. Sort of a public indecency thing. I pled no contest and I got 6 months unsupervised probation and 100 hours of community service. I Also had to pay court costs of about 75 dollars.
I wanted to hire a lawyer but he was joing to chrge me 1500 dollars. I think i did pretty good.

Get the 'bestest' shark you (your parents) can afford. Probation is simply an annoying visitation to a probation officer (once a week or once a month, depends) during a period of time defined by the judge.
May be a good lawyer will help you to take it off your records after some period of time. It will cost you in total more than $150, but don't let anybody judge you.
You had your reasons for shoplifting, you got caught, and you are facing the court and probation.
Deal with that first, than take an overseas vacation.

no you don't, all courts have a legal aid lawyers at the court house. call the Court that you have to attend an book in to see him/her, you must show a judge remorse wear nice cloths, cover tats, no what plane you have in place to resist this action again as this is often asked, if it is your first time it want be that bad, be horniest as this will only go well for you, the cost of the theft is not relevant, its still a crime, good luck

Seriously...
1) get a lawyer. Pay for one...don't take the court appointed one.

2) Always pleade "NOT GUILTY"

3) Post bond and cut a plea...have your lawyer insist on no jail time.

4) Pay your fines, court cost and your lawyer fees.

5) Stay out of trouble from here on out.
