You people scare me! (Not the Questioner, of course) but Genovia does IN NO WAY have ANYTHING to do with Geneva, Switzerland. Genovia is a 100% invented country just for the Princess Diaries series.

As oppose to the comment above, I thought the Princess Diaries movie was based off a book therefore it wasn't really invented for the movie but I myself haven't read it so I apologise if I'm wrong
