No. A tampon may tear or break or your hymen, but the hymen is not a good indicator of virginity. It can be broken during various activities, such as horse back riding, and some women aren't born with one at all.

It is up to you to decide when you no longer will consider yourself a "virgin". Many people define it as having had penis-in-vagina sex. But what about gay and lesbian couples? And what about other types of sexual activity? And what about rape victims? (IMO - Past a certain point, when one is doing everything but "sex", it gets kind of ridiculous to still be considered a virgin.)

Ultimately, virginity is a personal thing. Don't worry about tampons taking your virginity, you are virgin until you choose not to be.

You can tear your hymen with a tampon, but you can also do that by playing sports. A person who is a virgin is someone who has not had sexual intercourse. So, unless that tampon is going to magically turn into a penis inside of you, no you cannot lose your viriginity to a tampon.

The concept of being a 'virgin' is that you have not had intercourse - with another person - yet. Don't listen to that man who answered first. Hymens are easily broken by activity, and some women don't even have intact ones when they're born. Read the page in the sources.

Well you can break your hymen by using a tampon, but you'd need to have sex to loose your virginity
