Don't be embarrassed - it just means you are a woman now. I wonder if your cycle is just off - and is not consistent yet. That can and will happen when you are younger. As you get older, it gets more consistent and you will know when it is coming.

If you are sexually active, which I hope you are not :o), you could of course be pregnant. If that is not possible, have your mom or someone take you to a gynecologist for a pelvic exam just to make sure everything is ok. It can be a bit awkward of course and uncomfortable but relax - this will be a part of your life as a woman and you don't need to feel embarrassed or not want to talk about it. It is part of you, your body, and being a woman.

It could just be inconsistent or maybe you really didn't get it back then - are you sure you had your period before then?? Got it every month for about one week each time? I would see a gyn and get an exam or at least talk to them about it. If pregnancy is possible, you will also need to see one or take a test from a drugstore.

Also, just so you know, any new medications, stress from life or something else, any major changes can stress your body and throw your cycle off for months - so think if any of these things are possible. Also, birth control pills can help regulate your period while you are young and also reduce any PMS symptoms like cramping - so you may want to ask about taking the pill so your cycle can become regular and predictable.

Dont' be embarrassed though.. I understand cause I was too but you will get more and more used to it and want to ask questions and understand what happens - and need to. It is ok. :o)

First of all. Take a deep breath and relax. This is not common but nothing to get to alarmed about.

Are you under alot of stress? A typical cause

Are you and athlete who is very active? A typical cause

Are you Sexually active? An obvious cause!

If you can answer yes to these then there is an obvious reason as to why you may not have had one.

I would highly suggest that you schedule a gynocolgy visit to be safe. There are also some medical conditions associated that can cause this such as : Amenorrhea: the Lack of Menses, Missed Periods, Periods - Missed. : The absence of menstrual flow, either primary (menstruation fails to begin before age 16) or secondary (menstruation begins at the appropriate age, but later ceases for 6 or more months in the absence of normal causes such as pregnancy, lactation, or menopause).

Your period will take a while to get into any sort of regular cycle, if you're like most women. Some women never get very regular ones. (I'm one of them.)

But if you're just starting it, don't worry about it. In a few years if it's still all over the calendar, mention it to your doctor. There's a good explanation at the Scarleteen site.

Are you sexually active? If not then are you on some form of birth control?..Those can effect your period. If not that then you should talk to your mom or another female member of your family about a trip to the doctor. Hope everything goes OK.

I would have to add that if you are significantly under weight your period may have stopped. In any case, you should see a doctor. It may just be an irregularity or something more serious but it would be best to know.

It's normal to have an irregular cycle after you first start. Are you sure you're not pregnant? It might be a good idea to talk to a gynecologist. S/he will probably put you on the Pill to make you have regular cycles.

it's pretty normal, don't stress out about it. I was quite a bit older when I had my first one. If you are worried about it, thinking that you might be pregnant or are in pain, you should probably go to a Planned Parenthood or a OBGYN. They are going to be able to make sure that everything is okay in that area.

It's either stress or hormones. Hormones can be fixed with the pill.

If you're sexually active, you could be pregnant.

See a Gyn for help with this problem.
