I think this happened during a Super Bowl, but which quaterback busted their leg during a game but went back on the field and finished the game anyway, beating their opponent in the process. I think I heard that their bone was actually sticking out of their leg. I used to know this but I can't remember now.

I doubt a bone was sticking out of their leg. That would be played every year, over and over. Its almost like Theismann, who did not play after LT cracked his leg

I accept as true with almost each and every saddest 2nd already suggested, yet maximum of those are activities that happened off the sector, so i'm going to bypass with on the sector historic past (this is a small timeframe because of the fact i'm no longer the right age to remember something until eventually now 1992) As a Broncos fan the main suitable 2nd for me replaced into John Elway working for the 1st down in 1997 against the Packers interior the excellent Bowl (the helicopter play) and the saddest 2nd replaced into while Terrell Davis had his knees destroyed and could no longer run anymore i'm additionally a Bucs fan, so the main suitable 2nd on that side replaced into Ronde Barber's interception return for a TD on Donavon McNabb that iced the 2003 NFC Championship interest and sent the Bucs to the excellent Bowl

Joe Theissman broke his leg on Monday Night Football in a game against the Giants in 1985. He was standing in the pocket when a big defensive lineman landed on him.

The leg snapped and sounded like a shotgun going off.

The instant replay showed the calf of his leg bending at a 90 degree angle as he went to the turf. The replay was shown about 50 times and by the time they stopped showing it, my leg hurt on his behalf.

He never finished the game, Never played pro ball again.

There is an in-depth article in wikipedia covering the leg injury and its aftermath.

Byron Leftwich finished a game in college when his teammates had to carry him on and off the field because he couldn't walk. Joe Theisman didn't go back in the game once LT broke his leg.

joe thiesman broke his leg in two, years ago, but, the coaches sure wouldn't let a player continue.
when they get paid millions, they are too valuable to damage any more the needed.

It don't remember a QB doing it, but DT Tim Krumrie did it. That great game vs SF.

Not a superbowl, but it was Theisman on a Monday night.
